OVERVIEW

This is the card of activity, movement, and expansion. The Stork shakes things up and refreshes our life. It’s similar to the Ship and Rider in that it stirs things up and gets moving whatever had been stagnant. It’s often associated with house moves and similarly important changes.

On its own, changes are positive, but it can take on negative connotations from nearby cards. It can also indicate a desire to escape. With the Child, it’s the main combination of pregnancy or a newborn. And with the House it's the main combination for moving homes.

IN THE PORTRAIT & GRAND TABLEAU

On the first or central card of the nine-card portrait, it indicates that we’re about to get involved in something significant, or that much activity and movement is about to take place. It urges us to take initiative instead of waiting for things to happen. We need to unleash our potential and allow ourselves to dream big and soar high. We also need to take the lid off anything we’d been repressing and give ourselves plenty of room to breath and express.

In the Grand Tableau, the Stork suggests a house move or plenty of activity and changes when it’s near the significator. When far, changes are delayed or not as deep. This said, when the Stork is on the farthest right column of the Tableau, it indicates a major transformation in the future, and when it’s on the farthest column on the left, it suggests that we’d gone through a major transformation in the past.

ADVICE

The Stork invites us to do something different. We could change our pace, get out of the house, change scenes, get a haircut, or do any number of things to refresh our mindset. It’s an active card so procrastination is out and proactivity is in.
